Parrish is an unincorporated community located in the heart of Manatee County, Florida, and was named for Crawford Parrish, one of the first settlers in Manatee County. Parrish is an incredibly unique place to live, and has been said to give visitors the feeling of stepping back in time to “Old Florida.” Parrish is located on the western coast of Florida, between Tampa and Sarasota, and offers a location convenient to many attractions and amenities with easy access to nearby I-75.
Living in Parrish
Living in Parrish is truly like taking a step back in time – to a place where horse and cattle ranches dot the scenic landscapes and moss-covered oak trees line the streets, making for a picture perfect backdrop. Parrish is a blend of both old and new Florida, with new communities popping up among the older, established neighborhoods. Living in Parrish makes it easy to commute to nearby areas, including Tampa, Bradenton, or Sarasota.
Parrish is a quiet and rural town, which makes it perfect for families. Living in Parrish also affords residents the chance to live a life away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but to still be close enough to enjoy the amenities a city has to offer.
Parrish Real Estate
Parrish real estate is truly a blend of the old and new, with newer developments and communities continuing to spring up amidst the older, more established neighborhoods throughout the area. There is a good balance of “Old Florida” and newer, gated communities. While there are some options available for condos and town homes, most of the real estate available in Parrish is single-family homes. There are some beautiful communities in Parrish, including Copperstone, Harrison Ranch, and Forest Creek.
Copperstone, for example, is a resort-style gated community, boasting great amenities including a full fitness center, parks and playgrounds, a community clubhouse and heated swimming pool. As with most of Parrish, living in Copperstone allows you access to all that the bigger cities have to offer nearby, but live in a quiet, rural setting.
Harrison Ranch is a new home development, and offers homes starting in the $100,000s in The Cover at Harrison Ranch. Homes in The Reserve at Harrison Ranch start in the $200,000s. Square footage ranges from 1,447 – 3,476, and features floor plans with up to 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, perfect for a growing family. Harrison Ranch also boasts great amenities, including a full-time lifestyle director, handicapped-accessible playground, fitness center with a class schedule, tennis courts, BBQ pavilion, heated Junior Olympic swimming pool, and so much more. Harrison Ranch also has over 5 miles of walking trails throughout the community.
Forest Creek is another new development, offering a wide range of available homes. Options range from 947 square feet 2 bedroom cottages (priced in the $100,000s) to 4 bedroom single-family homes, up to over 2,500 square feet. The amenities here include a resort style swimming pool, recreation center, 24-hour fitness facility, and a park with a playground and picnic shelter.
Of course, these are just a few of the many wonderful neighborhoods within Parrish that present a wealth of options to today’s homebuyers.
